KeskOS Features

KeskOS is a full Arch-based KDE Plasma live system with a custom terminal identity. It is not just a theme pack: the ISO boots into a complete desktop, installs through a themed Calamares flow, and carries the same black-and-orange console language across launcher, panel, terminal, browser start page, login surface, and installer.

Live KDE Plasma ISO

Boot straight into the KeskOS desktop before installing. The live session lets you check display, network, input, audio, storage visibility, the panel layout, the launcher, and the terminal styling on your hardware or VM.

  • x86_64 live image
  • usable Plasma session before install
  • good for hardware checks and VM testing
  • same visual direction as the installed system

Themed Calamares Installer

The install flow uses a custom KeskOS console skin instead of a generic setup path. It includes guided stages for location, keyboard, disk target, user profile, loadout, deployment review, and install.

  • custom pre-flight screen
  • browser selection stage
  • optional bundle selection
  • consistent amber terminal layout

Kesk Kickoff Launcher

A patched terminal-style application launcher integrated into Plasma. The category view keeps Favorites, All Applications, Development, Help, Internet, Multimedia, System, and Utilities inside the KeskOS visual system.

Quickshell Top HUD

The top HUD gives the desktop its secure terminal feeling while preserving daily Plasma behavior. It carries the S.P.L.I.T. identity, system readouts, and the amber line-work seen across the OS.

Real Plasma Bottom Panel

KeskOS keeps a real Plasma taskbar and launcher path rather than replacing the desktop with a fragile shell-only stack. The result is styled, but still practical for normal desktop work.

Consistent Branding

The desktop is meant to feel like one designed product from boot to login to daily use. KeskOS carries the same visual direction through the installer, login screen, lock screen, splash, wallpaper, terminal, launcher, browser start page, and panel.

Grounded Claims

The site avoids pretending KeskOS is immutable, enterprise-certified, privacy-guaranteed, or universally compatible with every hardware setup. The public claims stay tied to what the project actually ships: an Arch-based KDE Plasma live OS with custom branding, launcher work, installer choices, and a strong terminal identity.
